Protective Services

As Caretaker of the Public’s Safety, the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department is dedicated to maintaining the respect and trust of the Public served by resolutely enforcing the law and by committing to the efficient and effective delivery of safety services. As agents of the community, the CCSD strives to provide appropriate custodial care along with programs that support the physical, spiritual and constitutional needs of individuals committed to our custody with the objective of returning them to society better prepared for the future.

To accomplish this goal the Division of Protective Services must create and maintain an atmosphere of security and comfort for staff and citizens.

Protective Services staff and management will render highly visible, courteous service and maintain a consistent, professional presence.

We seek to supplement local law enforcement agencies.

Services Provided

Protective Service Officers respond to hundreds of incidents, multiple emergencies, and alarm responses. Although the first priority is deterrence and safety, we also provide many other services for all County-owned/operated properties such as.
